In-Water Practice in Utila, Honduras

If you want to take your learning further, you can join an optional in-water practice session in Utila. This session is offered separately and has an additional cost.

Snorkel or dive with a marine biologist and apply what you learned directly underwater. For example, for the Introduction to Coral Ecology course, you will practice recognizing stony vs soft corals, identify stony coral types using colony shape categories, and observe signs of healthy, stressed, bleached, or dead corals.

This real life session helps you integrate what you learned, gain confidence underwater, and connect even more with the reef you are helping to protect.
